Principal’s Message
Kia ora koutou katoa and warm Pasifika greetings,
We give glory to our Father in heaven for his guidance and protection over us during this very long Level 3.2 lockdown. These are surely unprecedented times not only in our country but all over the world and more than ever we know that we lean on our Faith to get us through.
On behalf of our Principal and staff I would like to thank you all for your unwavering support for your children’s online learning, ensuring they are online and encouraging them to work through the set tasks. Thank you, thank you.

I want to take this opportunity to say a huge ‘Faafetai Lava’ to our Room 2 teacher Mrs Rhona Godinet who will take leave beginning Monday 8th November to await the birth of her child. It was lovely to farewell you in our online assembly with 60 attendees which included our students and staff. You will indeed be missed by not only your class but all the students and the staff of Rise Up Academy. We thank you for all the work that you have done to prepare those of Room 2 moving on and just for your dedication to ensure your class receives the very best. We wish you well Rhona. God Bless

We had our very first online Assembly on zoom and it was wonderful to see all our children and families, clearly we all miss each other as there was a great turnout! Well done families!

Classroom Zoom Sessions – Home Learning
Room 5
We started off this term learning about what recycling is and we are learning why recycling is good for sustainability. We are enjoying interesting stories and videos online to assist us with our Inquiry learning. We warmly welcomed our new students: Matthias Roache and Renee Papali’i.
Room 4
Room 4 learners and whanau have embraced our inquiry context Sustainable Systems this term. They have become avid Waste Warriors within their homes by Recycling items, identifying the various plastic codes and noticing illegal dumping occurring within their community.
This term they will look at writing their own speeches around our Inquiry context.
They will showcase their new learning and voice their view on the impact of waste in our homes, community and planet.
A huge thank you to our parents, Mrs Govender and Learning Assistants; Whaea Nina and Mr C!
Room 3
This week Room 3 have really stepped up their learning. Mrs Viliamu sets daily challenges and it was good to see our parents join in. For Devotions, we watched a clip on what faith is. We have been reading about Henderson Island and how rubbish from the South Pacific Gyre ends up on this uninhibited island. We have had lots of fun doing fitness and mindfulness. However we miss being in class and being around each other.
Room 2
Thank you RUA for filling in our class survey, the responses have allowed Room 2 to organise, analyze and synthesize information. Lots of maths integration as well as having raw data for Inquiry. Room 2 is busy using the green hat to help our RUA families create and sustain composting systems in homes. These photos are of students using videos to summarise and explain their learning through reading, here they are also conscious of their presenting skills such as using a clear voice and body language as they prepare for speeches later on in the term. Continue to work diligently Room 2, I am so proud of the online work you are doing.
Room 1
Fakaalofa lahi atu, We started with Niuean Language week at the beginning of the term and we had some basic kupus (words) that our students had to put in a sentence. View their videos as they attempt vagahau Niue. Other than that Room 1 have been working really hard with their new learning about Sustainable eating. Process vs Organic food, how looking after our planet plays a huge roll with our soil, ozone layer and eating well with out any toxic chemicals or fertilizers that we consume. Please read some of the students letters to our Future Generators about how they can help with our planet. There is still a lot of work to cover, which is very important for all students to attend their zoom sessions daily.

Synergy Presentation Night
Wow! We give thanks and praise to God for our Synergy presentation night.Thank you to our whanau -Henry, Sofele, Singh & Feao whanau. We were all blown away by the presentations from Raven & Tyler Henry, Lazarys Sofele-Sinisa, Harjas, Jasmine & Ekamjeet Singh and Gideon Fe’ao.
We were amazed with the creative & fun-filled presentations by our children. We are all very proud of you, well done whanau. Thank you parents for your commitment to our Synergy programme.
